
Bev Van Berkom in Paris
Bev Ulsrud Van Berkom has been an artist most of her life, and inspiration for her work comes from her surroundings as well as within.
She grew up listening to stories and myths of the ancient Scandinavians as told by her grandfather and father. Later she had the opportunity to study the intricate designs and craftmanship of their art. She made trips to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, spending hours in museums, making sketches and interpreting them. She studied art at the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Van Berkom's art has been featured in numerous articles and magazine covers, and she has authored two books on Scandinavian art and mythology. Her work is included in corporate and private collections worldwide, and has been displayed in solo and group exhibitions throughout the US and Europe.
